The short version Snipmark does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Everything stays on your device. No account required, no analytics, no telemetry — ever.

Data collection

Snipmark collects no data of any kind. The application does not connect to the internet, does not send analytics or crash reports, and does not include any tracking or advertising SDKs.

There is nothing to opt out of. There are no privacy settings to configure. The application has no network access by design.

Screenshots and recordings

Screenshots and screen recordings you capture are saved directly to folders on your local machine — Pictures and Videos by default, configurable in the Settings window. They are never uploaded, shared, or transmitted anywhere by the application.

Application settings

Your preferences — hotkeys, folder paths, theme, and other settings — are stored in a local file at %APPDATA%\Snipmark\settings.json on your device. This file never leaves your machine.

License & purchase

The Microsoft Store version of Snipmark uses standard Store purchase infrastructure managed entirely by Microsoft. Snipmark itself does not perform any license checks or contact any external server. For questions about how Microsoft handles your purchase data, see Microsoft's privacy policy.

Third-party components

Snipmark uses the following open-source libraries. None of them collect user data:

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version adds optional crash reporting — it will be updated here with a new date, and changes will be noted in the app's release notes. The current policy, as written above, is simple: we collect nothing.
